The 2000 white wine cuvees are soft, fruity, agreeable offerings. The finest is the 2000 Hermitage Chevalier de Sterimberg, a barrel-fermented blend of 66% Marsanne and 34% Roussanne. The wine possesses great texture, super ripeness, a light gold color, and abundant power, concentration, and depth. It is one of the most profound wines Jaboulet has produced over recent vintages. It will easily equal the 1998. Needless to say, the gregarious Jacques Jaboulet claims it is "the best since 1964."
